Major Lazer is an electronic DJ project created by American DJ/producer Diplo. Formerly a collaboration along with DJ/producer Switch, they parted ways in late 2011. Diplo has since enlisted producers/DJs Jillionaire and Walshy Fire (of Black Chiney) to help with the production and live shows. In September 2012, Major Lazer announced that its upcoming album, Free the Universe, would be released on March 12, 2013 on Mad Decent. They also announced Fall 2012 tour dates. Major Lazer partly produced UK singer Rita Ora’s debut album, Ora. Major Lazer worked with No Doubt for their sixth studio album, Push and Shove. The album’s title track features producers Major Lazer and Jamaican reggae artist Busy Signal, and was released as a promotional single in August 2012. Major Lazer launched their Fall Tour 2012 in October, with shows in Oakland, Washington, D.C., Boston, and New York City, amongst others. In February 2013, Major Lazer signed with indie record label Secretly Canadian. At the same time, they announced the new release date, April 16, for their album Free the Universe. They also announced the Free the Universe 2013 World Tour, which will run all spring.

Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known by his stage name deadmau5, is a Canadian music producer and performer from Toronto. Zimmerman produces a variety of styles within the house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic dance music. His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2005, followed by others in the next few years. As well as his own solo releases, Zimmerman has worked alongside DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Knife Party and Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Bighorse, and on a number of releases, Zimmerman has partnered with Melleefresh. The release date is currently unknown, but an early 12” single produced on vinyl titled “I Don’t Want No Other” was released by Joel Zimmerman under the alias “Dred And Karma”. The 2006 album titled deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002 was released using the alias “Halcyon441” and the collaboration with Joel Zimmerman and Steve Duda was under the alias “BSOD”. In 2007, Zimmerman began his own record label “mau5trap”, which, along with Ultra Records and Ministry of Sound, released the 2008 album Random Album Title, which saw the collaboration of Zimmerman and San Francisco producer Kaskade with “I Remember”. Random Album Title, saw a digital release in September 2008 via Ultra Records in the United States and Ministry of Sound in the United Kingdom and Europe. On September 22, 2009, Ultra Records released his album For Lack of a Better Name in the United States, and October 5 internationally. For Lack of a Better Name includes two of Zimmerman’s most popular songs, “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” (featuring Rob Swire) and “Strobe”. On August 9, 2012, Zimmerman announced his upcoming sixth studio album, Album Title Goes Here, which was released on September 24 of that year. Singles from this album include “Maths”, “The Veldt” (featuring Chris James) and “Professional Griefers” featuring My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way. Dissatisfied with their latest album, Joel decided to start a new album that will be released possibly in 2014, including collaborations with Armin van Buuren and Kill The Noise.

Thomas Olsen, better known by his stage name Tommy Trash, is an Australian DJ, record producer and remixer. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California and signed to Ministry of Sound Australia, the Australian subsidiary of Ministry of Sound. The ARIA Music Awards of 2009 nomination of artist Tommy Trash, one of the EDM scene’s biggest promises, is considered as one of the highlights of 2011. Ever since he appeared on the scene in 2006, Tommy has been rocking the charts and the dance floors, and with over 50 productions (originals and remixes), and also he has quickly been recognized as one of Australia’s biggest talents. Tommy also launched his music on worldwide labels, such as Ministry Of Sound, CR2, Great Stuff, Stealth, Toolroom Records, and Subliminal, and will release his future works on Ultra, Dim Mak, Musical Freedom, Mixmash, Rising Music, and Pinkstar. W&W is a duo of producers of the Netherlands consisting of Willem van Hanegem Jr. and Wardt van der Harst. His first hit was Mustang, wich was supported by dj’s like Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Markus Schulz. With tracks like Ensure, Show my Shuffle, Origin and Stab My Speaker, W&W initiated the beginning of his career. they was highlighted by Armin van Buuren as “the best duo of producers to follow in the trance scene” and gave them a great opportunity in his productions, giving them a place through its own label Armada Music in the sublabel Captivating Sounds. After that, they created their own label within Armada, Mainstage Music. Since the end of 2012 they produced Big Room and Electro, they have been released by Revealed Recordings, Hardwell’s label, but in late 2013 they returned to produce some Tech Trance tracks.

Joram Metekohy is a Dutch hardstyle DJ and record producer. He has had notable collaborations with artists Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers, and D-Block & S-te-Fan. He began with his first solo release “Life’z A Bitch / Missin” on Scantraxx Reloaded, the label of DJ Headhunterz. Later, the two formed Project One, and created a full album which was released in 2008. In 2010, Wildstylez started his own record label called “Digital Age” with the Noisecontrollers. In 2008 Metekohy joined up with fellow Dutch producer Headhunterz to create an alias named Project One, this proved successful and they released the single “Rate Reducer” as a free download on the Project One Facebook page. Project One proved popular with hardstyle fans and they played at many festivals in 2010 including DefQon1 (of which Headhunterz provided the 2009 anthem, and Wildstylez the 2010 anthem that year). Metekohy worked with Headhunterz again in 2011, on his song “Tonight” which also featured another fellow Dutch hardstyle act: Noisecontrollers, the song proved successful also and was nominated for a 2012 hard dance award of which the song was put upon the compilation album “Hard Dance Awards 2012” where it was featured as a remix from Alpha².
