                                          MAJOR LAZER
origin: USA
genre: Moombahton, Dancehall, Reggae Fusion
Major Lazer is an electronic DJ project created by American DJ/producer Diplo. Formerly a collaboration along with DJ/producer Switch, they parted ways in late 2011. Diplo has since enlisted producers/DJs Jillionaire and Walshy Fire (of Black Chiney) to help with the production and live shows. In September 2012, Major Lazer announced that its upcoming album, Free the Universe, would be released on March 12, 2013 on Mad Decent. They also announced Fall 2012 tour dates. Major Lazer partly produced UK singer Rita Ora’s debut album, Ora. Major Lazer worked with No Doubt for their sixth studio album, Push and Shove. The album’s title track features producers Major Lazer and Jamaican reggae artist Busy Signal, and was released as a promotional single in August 2012. Major Lazer launched their Fall Tour 2012 in October, with shows in Oakland, Washington, D.C., Boston, and New York City, amongst others. In February 2013, Major Lazer signed with indie record label Secretly Canadian. At the same time, they announced the new release date, April 16, for their album Free the Universe. They also announced the Free the Universe 2013 World Tour, which will run all spring.

                                          DEADMAU5
origin: Canada
genre: IDM, Ambient, Progressive, Electro, Complextro, Deep House, Tech House, Trance… deadmau5 has created several new genres of electronic music.
Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known by his stage name deadmau5, is a Canadian music producer and performer from Toronto. Zimmerman produces a variety of styles within the house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic dance music. His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2005, followed by others in the next few years. As well as his own solo releases, Zimmerman has worked alongside DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Knife Party and Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Bighorse, and on a number of releases, Zimmerman has partnered with Melleefresh. The release date is currently unknown, but an early 12” single produced on vinyl titled “I Don’t Want No Other” was released by Joel Zimmerman under the alias “Dred And Karma”. The 2006 album titled deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002 was released using the alias “Halcyon441” and the collaboration with Joel Zimmerman and Steve Duda was under the alias “BSOD”. In 2007, Zimmerman began his own record label “mau5trap”, which, along with Ultra Records and Ministry of Sound, released the 2008 album Random Album Title, which saw the collaboration of Zimmerman and San Francisco producer Kaskade with “I Remember”. Random Album Title, saw a digital release in September 2008 via Ultra Records in the United States and Ministry of Sound in the United Kingdom and Europe. On September 22, 2009, Ultra Records released his album For Lack of a Better Name in the United States, and October 5 internationally. For Lack of a Better Name includes two of Zimmerman’s most popular songs, “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” (featuring Rob Swire) and “Strobe”. On August 9, 2012, Zimmerman announced his upcoming sixth studio album, Album Title Goes Here, which was released on September 24 of that year. Singles from this album include “Maths”, “The Veldt” (featuring Chris James) and “Professional Griefers” featuring My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way. Dissatisfied with their latest album, Joel decided to start a new album that will be released possibly in 2014, including collaborations with Armin van Buuren and Kill The Noise.
